Hot off the Press…

Durham County are delighted to announce the selection of three of our U18 players to the North of England Counties squad that was announced last night.

The players selected are:

David Hill, Player Pathway Manager for DCRFU said

“ It has been a pleasure watching the three lads over the last few years follow their dream in rugby. All of the players have either been involved in the DPP program, County Rep Program or both and ultimately it has earned them a place in the Newcastle Falcons Academy. All three of the lads have had a great season so far and this is the icing on the cake for them.

To make the North of England Counties Squad is no mean feat with competition from all 6 of the northern county squads and this is in no small part to the dedication of the lads themselves but also their club and school coaches, academy coaches, county coaches and their parents for helping them achieve this level in the pathway.

Now that the players have been selected for the North of England Squad they will have a squad preparation day at Durham University this weekend followed by another squad weekend and then Festival later in February.

I am sure you will join me in wishing the boys well in the coming weeks and months as they chase their national honours.”
