Honda DCRFU Volunteer Event for 2021 22 Season

Writer: Durham County RFU Admin Durham County RFU Admin

Finally after a long wait, volunteers from all over Durham came together to celebrate their hard work at the Honda Durham County RFU Volunteer event.

The event took place at Durham City RFC on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

Volunteers from 17 Clubs around Durham arrived to welcome drinks, followed by a delicious meal. General Committee members joined the event following the quarterly General meeting. The event was rounded off with a presentation from Durham's County president Andrew Openshaw, in which volunteers where awarded in 3 different sections: nominees, short listed finalists and national finalists.

It was great to see Club and County members interacting through the night, many individuals finally putting faces to names.

Tom Duncan kindly attended the event as photographer, all pictures can be found here:

A great thanks to Durham City RFC for hosting the event, and thank you to Caroline as always for accommodating our requests.

The 2022-23 Honda Volunteer nominations will open in January, so keep an eye out on our website for details of how to get involved.

Thanks again to all our valued volunteers around the County, keeping our Clubs and County thriving and well done to those 2021 22 nominees. We can't wait to see what 2023 holds for Durham County RFU!
