Newcastle Falcons are hosting a meeting to discuss Women's and Girls Rugby in the North East

We have the following information from Jan, the Women and Girls representative for Durham County. Could you please pass this information on to the appropriate person/persons in your club.

Just a head up that Newcastle Falcons are holding a meeting to discuss Women’s and Girls rugby in the North East and have asked that we invite all clubs with female teams along for a discussion.

We now have a further information from Mick Hogan as the to the nature of this meeting and can only ask that as many of you as possible attend or get someone from your clubs to attend on your behalf.

Mick has provided us with the following information: ''Yes its very much on our thinking to develop an elite Women’s team at Falcons. But we want to do it in a manner that complements all the work currently going on across the region for Women and Girls. How we do it in a way that further promotes the game in the region and is in no way to the detriments of any existing club. It’s also important that if we get to the highest levels we do it in the right way by earning any such place.''

The meeting is in the Tap & Tackle bar on February 27th at 6:15pm, we understand this is sort notice but think it will be in the interest of Durham County Clubs to get as many representatives there as possible.

If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us on DCRFU@therfu.com
