Win for Durham County U18 boy's against Northumberland at Kingston Park

Durham County U18's Boys win against Northumberland in final fixture

Durham County U18's Boys at Kingston Park

On Sunday 13th January Durham County U18 Boy's played Northumberland in there last fixture of the season at Kingston Park.

Northumberland 22 - Durham 31

Durham U18's retained the Watt Davy trophy with a good win over Northumberland.

After a first half of missed chances from Durham, the sides where locked at 12-12 at the break with try's for Dylan Penny and Captain Shan Ivey. An excellent conversion was then scored, against the wind, from Ralph Makepeace.

The second half Durham took control and eased out to a 31-12 lead with score from Shane Ivey with his second Gabriel Wray and James Pearson with Ralph Makepeace slotting 2 further conversions but the last 10 minutes we took our foot of the gas and to Northumberland's credit (who kept going guided by their excellent Fly Half) scored 2 well worked try's, with the last scored right on full time. This gave the game a more balanced look.

Lots of Durham boys impressed over the season and we now wait with anticipation to find out which players will be invited to the North of England Trials.

Best of luck!

Also, a special thank you to the injured players who came and supported the team - Joe Ross and Chris West.

Well done Durham, a great way to end the season with a win...
