Durham County U15/U18 Girl's nominations are now open

Durham County Women's and Girls Committee are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2019/20 season campaign.

We are excited about another fantastic program this year and working with the best tal

ent in the County. The format for this year is again in line with the mixed discipline festivals and a briefing session will be held for successful players and parents to explain the benefits of seeing the players in each environment.

There will be an assessment day at the end of January swiftly followed by a squad development day and culminating in the 3 festivals in the North.

Durhams festivals this year will be hosted on AGP pitches to ensure the best playing experience for all concerned.

I'm also delighted to welcome Liam Shanahan on to the team as Head of Programs for the Girls county campaign this year. Liam brings a wealth of coaching experience which includes a coaching role at Tyrells Premiership side Harlequins. Having recently relocated to take up a teaching role at Yarm School I'm delighted to welcome Liam on board. We also have two new Lead Coaches for the U15 and U18 playing groups with Mark Moss and Anthony Jackson ably filling those roles.

How to Nominate?

There are some key changes to this years nominations process and criteria for clubs and players.

The key changes are:

Google Forms will capture all of the information centrally and all questions are mandatory. You will not be able to submit the form until all information is complete. Clubs can only nominate a maximum of 8 players this year. If you feel you have more than 8 then a written application must be submitted separately and be agreed and signed of by David Hill, Player Pathway Manager or Liam Shanahan, Head of Program. This reflects the growth of the girls game in Durham and is also in line with the boys clubs nominations who only get 5. Only one squad capped at a maximum of 30 players will be selected at each age group. ( this does not mean we will take 30 players through if the required standard is not met)Fixed closing date for applications is 13th January. No more applications will be accepted after this date.
